Oh, Jeremy Piven, Why
Ari would never roll this way
So below is the exact copy from sfgate.com of Jeremy Piven doing something really stupid. I watched his go to India special where he went and practiced yoga, and he seemed much dorkier and smoooth than one would expect, given the characters that he gets cast as.
By that definition, I suppose, I should be married to Julia Roberts and have not a mean bone in my body, but I digress.
As a former, (and probably future) server, bartender, whatever-er, I take great umbrage to the the thought of being tipped in DVD. I can't buy gas with it. And if he signed it or anything that involved his DNA on the DVD, well then, I can't even watch it.
Not to mention 12+ people at NOBU? That's a lot of money. At least a $1000 if people are drinking. 20% (Yes, Alex, that's what it should be.) is like $200 bucks. A quick check on EBAy reveals that a poster signed by the entire cast of entourage will be around $200, not some DVD.
12 people on short notice? Who cares? It's freakin Jeremy Piven. You throw out whoever is there, give some free coupons, and tell them that they can have dinner later. EVERY Time. It's Jeremy freakin Piven! That's just dumbassedness by the NOBU manager.
But my theory is that Ari is being written off the show, and Jeremy is trying to get a little 'famousocity' going so that he can get his own show in the works with the major networks. If he's going to get ousted from HBO for too much money, he's got to have some real juice to get a project somewhere else. His best bet, to create a little Piven/non-Ari publicity, and see what happens.

Actor Jeremy Piven has reportedly been banned from Nobu restaurants after paying a waiter's tip with a DVD.
The "Entourage" actor was dining at celebrity chef Nobu Matsuhisa's restaurant in Aspen, Colo., during the recent U.S. Comedy Arts Festival.
When the bill came, Piven paid up and left the waiter a copy of his "Entourage" DVD as a tip. The outraged server threw the DVD at the celebrity diner.
A fellow diner tells the New York Daily News, "(Piven) came in with a large group of 12 or more without reservations and asked for a table.
"It was a very busy night, but a table, although cramped, was provided. On his way out, he made a nasty comment to the manager: 'Thanks for nothing.'"
The actor was later advised to steer clear of all Nobu restaurants.
But Piven is playing down the incident in Aspen, saying, "I'm such a fan of Nobu and all of his restaurants. I had a great dinner at the Nobu in Aspen. As always, the meal was excellent and the service was great."
