Last Call Gets First Call
What happened? Will Springhorn Jr.com! That’s What happened
Well, Holy Cow. Valentine’s Day Premieres and Last Call receives it’s first film festival invite! It’s got to be one of the awesomest weeks in the history of Will Springhorn Jr. And the best in the short history of this website. WTF? Like I needed something to write about. Now all I need is for you kind people to comment.
I spent most of this afternoon putting Last Call into imbd.com, a herculean task for those of us who have the gumption to put in all the wonderful people who help to put a film together.
LUC! Haha. His imdb name is LUC! muwahahaha!
For those of you new to Last Call, please check out the trailer here. It involved a lot of guys in a 57 Chevy, amongst other things.
It’s been great hanging out with Rey (The director) and watching him deal with the rejections that he has been getting. It’s par for the course with actors, but for him, he’s not used to having to look for anyone for approval. This leads to outlandish ideas for retooling (Spandex!) the film and outrageously funny outbursts. (I f*&$^ K*&^ Sundance!) But for today, he’s good to go and happy as a clam.
The added bonus, of course, is that the festival is in Hollywood! One of the bits of conventional wisdom that I’ve heard is that you should definitely try to be in an NY and LA festival, for the exposure effect. Because Ari Gold just randomly drops in on short film screenings. But you never know!
Incidentally, I may not be able to go because of Coronado, but more on that later. It’s the first rehearsal tonight, and I don’t want to show my cards quite so quickly.
